Director: Rob Shaddick
Soundguard Acoustics Ltd Principal Consultant & Director, Rob Shaddick MIOA, has a comprehensive background in NHS audiology services, diagnostics & hearing assessment prior to becoming an acoustic consultant. Rob worked at North Devon District Hospital for 18 years as the Chief Audiologist & deputy service lead prior to setting up Soundguard Hearing Protection in 2003. Rob has been involved with the DEFRA research project into ‘low frequency noise’ as well as developing a bespoke custom ear protection device for water sports enthusiasts called Surfplugs and are now distributed worldwide
Soundguard Hearing Protection developed into wider acoustic consultancy services for industrial applications, environmental planning, noise control services & building acoustics & was incorporated as Soundguard Acoustics Ltd in 2007 with Rob Shaddick as the Director supported by a team of freelance acoustic consultants, marketing & secretarial staff.
Rob is a member of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA), an associate member of the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC), a member of The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) & also retains membership with the British Academy of Audiology (BAA), the British Association of Audiologists (BSA) & the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP). He holds several qualifications in acoustics including the IoA Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control, IoA Certificates of Competence in Environmental Assessment & Workplace Noise Assessment. He is currently undertaking an MSc in Acoustics with Derby University.
